Replacement: fuel filter – Volvo V70 BW. Tools you need:

                      Wire brush
                    
                      WD-40 spray
                    
                      All-purpose cleaning spray
                    
                      Torx bit T30
                    
                      Ratchet wrench
                    
                      Flat screwdriver
                    
                      Fluid container

Replacement: fuel filter – Volvo V70 BW. Tip from AUTODOC experts:

Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
Please note: all work on the car – Volvo V70 BW – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the fuel door.
Step 2

Unscrew the fuel filler cap.
Step 3

Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
Step 4

Prepare a container for fluids.
Step 5

Clean the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 6

Loosen the fuel filter fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 7

Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 8

Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use a flat screwdriver.

Replacement: fuel filter – Volvo V70 BW. AUTODOC recommends:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 9

Remove the fuel filter.
Step 10

Clean the fuel lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 11

Install a new fuel filter.

AUTODOC recommends:
During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.
Step 12

Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter.
Step 13

Screw in the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 14

Take the fluid container away from under the fuel filter.
Step 15

Lower the car.
Step 16

Tighten the fuel filler cap.
Step 17

Close the fuel door.

Replacement: fuel filter – Volvo V70 BW. Tip:
Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.
Step 18

Run the engine for a few minutes.

Shut off the engine.
