Replacement: fuel filter – Opel Astra H Caravan. Tip from AUTODOC:

Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
Use only new O-rings during installation.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the hood.
Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3

Detach the fuel pressure sensor connector.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 4

Prepare a container for fluids.
Step 5

Disconnect the pipe from the fuel filter.Use fuel line pliers.

Replacement: fuel filter – Opel Astra H Caravan. AUTODOC recommends:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 6

Unscrew the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover.
Step 7

Remove the fuel filter cover with the old filter cartridge attached.
Step 8

Put the fuel filter cover with the old filter cartridge into a container.

Step 9

Remove the fuel filter.

Step 10

Remove the old sealing ring.
Step 11

Clean the fuel filter housing and the cover.Use all-purpose cleaning spray.

Step 12

Install the new sealing ring.
Step 13

Install a new fuel filter.

Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Take care to only use quality filters.
Step 14

Install the fuel filter cover with the filter cartridge attached.
Step 15

Tighten the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover.
Step 16

Attach the pipe to the fuel filter.
Step 17

Attach the fuel pressure sensor connector.

Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.
Step 18

Run the engine for a few minutes.This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 19

Shut off the engine.

Step 20

Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 21

Close the hood.
