- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT TOLEDO III (5P2). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT TOLEDO III (5P2). Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 5Remove the wheel.Step 6
Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT TOLEDO III (5P2). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.Wear protective goggles. - Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the ball joint to the suspension control arm. Use a drive socket #16. Use a tap wrench. - Step 8
Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use a drive socket #18. Use a tap wrench. - Step 9
Unscrew the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the car body. Use a drive socket #18. Use a tap wrench. - Step 10
Unscrew the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a drive socket #16. Use a tap wrench. - Step 11
Remove the fastening bolts. Use a drive socket #18. Use a drive socket #16. - Step 12
Remove the arm. - Step 13
Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 14
Install a new arm.Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT TOLEDO III (5P2). AUTODOC recommends:During the installation process, use only new bolts and nuts. - Step 15
Install the front fastener of the arm. - Step 16
Screw the fasteners of the ball joint. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 17
Install the rear fastener of the arm. - Step 18
Screw the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the car body. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 19
Install the rear fastener of the arm. - Step 20
Screw the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
