- The replacement procedure is identical for all brake pads on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake pads – RENAULT RAPID Box (F40_, G40_). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 4Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. RENAULT RAPID Box (F40_, G40_)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 8Remove the brake pad retaining pin. Use a crowbar.
- Step 9Remove the retainer of the brake pads.
- Step 10Remove the brake pads.Replacement: brake pads – RENAULT RAPID Box (F40_, G40_). Tip:Measure the brake disc thickness. Upon reaching the wear limit the part must be replaced.
- Step 11Treat the brake pads in the area where their surface comes into contact with the brake caliper bracket. Use anti-squeal paste.Replacement: brake pads – RENAULT RAPID Box (F40_, G40_). AUTODOC recommends:Make sure the disc surface is clean before installing the pads.
- Step 12Install new brake pads.Replacement: brake pads – RENAULT RAPID Box (F40_, G40_). AUTODOC experts recommend:Make sure the pads are installed with linings facing the disc.
- Step 13Install the retainer of the brake pads.
