- Replace the brake disks on the car VW CADDY IV Box (SAA, SAH) in complete set for each axis. Regardless of the state of components. This will ensure even braking.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both brake disks on the same axle.
- When changing the brake discs, always replace the brake pads.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW CADDY IV Box (SAA, SAH) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 4Raise the car.Replacement: brake discs – VW CADDY IV Box (SAA, SAH). Professionals recommend:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW CADDY IV Box (SAA, SAH)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake discs – VW CADDY IV Box (SAA, SAH). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 8Unscrew the brake caliper fasteners. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 10Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 11Remove the brake caliper.Replacement: brake discs – VW CADDY IV Box (SAA, SAH). AUTODOC recommends:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.
- Step 12Remove the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 13Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 14Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 15Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 16Remove the caliper bracket.
- Step 17Clean the brake disc fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 18Unscrew the brake disc fastening. Use Torx T30. Use an impact screwdriver.
- Step 19Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 20Remove the brake disc. Use a rubber mallet.
- Step 21Clean the hub. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 22Treat the contacting surface. Use ceramic grease.
- Step 23Install the brake disc.
- Step 24Install the fastening bolt.
- Step 25Tighten the brake disc fastening. Use Torx T30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 8 Nm torque.
