Replacement: ball joint – OPEL TIGRA (95_). AUTODOC experts recommend:

The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right ball joints.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: ball joint – OPEL TIGRA (95_). Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 3

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

Replacement: ball joint – OPEL TIGRA (95_). Tip:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Clean the fastener that connects the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7

Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8

Remove the fastening bolt. Use a hammer.
Step 9

Unscrew the fastener connecting the ball joint to the suspension control arm. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 10

Release the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
Step 11

Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
Step 12

Disconnect the spherical joint from the arm.

Step 13

Remove the ball joint.
Step 14

Remove the fastening bolts (2 pieces). Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 15

Clean the ball joint mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 16

Install the fastening bolts (2 pieces).
Step 17

Install a new ball joint.

Replacement: ball joint – OPEL TIGRA (95_). AUTODOC experts recommend:
Do not damage the ball joint cover.
Step 18

Attach the ball joint to the control arm.
Step 19

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a drive socket #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 nm torque.
Step 20

Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar. Use a rubber mallet.
Step 21

Install the fastening bolt.

Step 22

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 nm torque.
Step 23

Treat the fasteners of the ball joint. Use copper grease.

Step 24

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 25

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: ball joint – OPEL TIGRA (95_). Tip from AUTODOC:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 26

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. OPEL TIGRA (95_)
Step 27

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 28

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 110 Nm torque.
Step 29

Remove the jacks and chocks.
