How to change front anti roll bar link / front drop link on VW GOLF 5 (1K1) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

AUTODOC recommends:
- Replace the stabiliser links on VW Golf 5 in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – VW Golf 5. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Golf 5
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 8Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #18. Use HEX No.H5. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the stabilizer rod.Replacement: anti roll bar links – VW Golf 5. Tip:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
- Step 10Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
- Step 11Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 65 Nm torque.
