How to change rear anti roll bar link / rear drop link on VW GOLF 6 (5K1) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

WD-40 spray
Copper grease
Combination spanner #16
XZN socket bit # 6
Wheel impact socket #17
Ratchet wrench
Torque wrench
Wheel chock
AUTODOC recommends:
- Replace the stabiliser links on VW Golf 6 in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – VW Golf 6. Take the following steps:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. - Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Golf 6 - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Disconnect the transverse stabilizer fastener from the link. Use a combination spanner #16. Use XZN #6. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #16. Use XZN #6. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9
Remove the stabilizer rod. - Step 10
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
