Unscrew the fastener of the coolant hose clamp. Use XZN #6. Use a ratchet wrench.

Clean the thermostat housing. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.

Unscrew the thermostat housing fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 37
Remove the fastening bolts.
Step 38
Remove the thermostat housing together with the thermostat.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: engine thermostat – SKODA SUPERB (3T4). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.

Clean the thermostat housing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 40
Install the new thermostat housing together with the thermostat.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: engine thermostat – SKODA SUPERB (3T4). Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the part.

Treat the fastening bolts. Use a sealant.

Install the fastening bolts.
Step 43
Tighten the thermostat housing fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 9 nm torque.

Attach the upper coolant hose.

Attach the clamp of the upper coolant hose. Use needle nose pliers.

Screw in the fastener of the coolant hose clamp. Use XZN #6. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 7 nm torque.

Attach the upper coolant hose.

Attach the clamp of the upper coolant hose. Use clic-R collar pliers.

Attach the upper coolant hose.

Attach the clamp of the upper coolant hose. Use clic-R collar pliers.

Attach the clamp of the upper coolant hose. Use needle nose pliers.

Treat the fastening bolts. Use a sealant.

Clean the throttle body mounting seats. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.

Install the throttle valve on the intake manifold. Install the fastening bolts.

Tighten the throttle body fasteners to the air intake manifold. Use Torx T27. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 14 nm torque.

Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.

Clean the mounting seat of the air intake hose. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.

Reinstall the air intake duct.
Step 60
Screw in the dipstick tube fastener. Use a combination spanner #10.

Secure the fastener of the air intake duct. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.

Connect the throttle body connector.

Install the air duct.
Step 64
Remove the coolant reservoir cap.
Step 65
Insert the funnel.

Pour coolant in the coolant reservoir.
Replacement: engine thermostat – SKODA SUPERB (3T4). Tip from AUTODOC:
Only use the coolant recommended by the manufacturer.The coolant level should be at the MAX mark.Wait until the air goes out of the system.

Run the engine for a few minutes. This should be done in order to remove residual air from the cooling system and to check if the components are operating correctly.

Shut off the engine.
Step 69
Check the coolant level. If necessary, top up to the required level.

Install the coolant reservoir cap.

Screw on the coolant reservoir cap.

Remove the fender protection cover.

Close the hood.
