- Replace the brake drums on PEUGEOT 306 Hatchback (7A, 7C, N3, N5) in pair for the rear axle. Disregarding the parts state. It ensures even braking.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake drums on the same axle.
- When replacing the brake drums, be sure to also change the brake shoes.
- Replacement: brake drum – PEUGEOT 306 Hatchback (7A, 7C, N3, N5). Take the following steps:
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. - Step 3Raise the car.Replacement: brake drum – PEUGEOT 306 Hatchback (7A, 7C, N3, N5). Tip from AUTODOC:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT 306 Hatchback (7A, 7C, N3, N5) - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the brake drum fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Unscrew the brake drum fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use an impact screwdriver. - Step 8
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 9
Unscrew the fasteners of the centre console and remove it. Use a Phillips screwdriver. - Step 10
Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut. Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 11
Remove the brake drum. Use a crowbar. - Step 12
Clean the hub. Use a wire brush. - Step 13
Treat the contacting surface. Use ceramic grease. - Step 14
Readjust the brake shoe adjuster. Use a crowbar.
