- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: air filter – VW POLO VIVO Hatchback. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Detach the crankcase ventilation hose from the engine cover at the left. - Step 4
Remove the engine cover. The air filter housing is integrated into the engine cover.Replacement: air filter – VW POLO VIVO Hatchback. Tip from AUTODOC:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously. - Step 5
Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system. - Step 6
Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver. - Step 7
Take off the filter lid. - Step 8
Remove the filter element from the filter housing. - Step 9
Clean the air filter cover and housing.Replacement: air filter – VW POLO VIVO Hatchback. Tip:Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth. - Step 10
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: air filter – VW POLO VIVO Hatchback. Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.Take care to only use quality filters.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
