Replacement: air filter – VW California Westfalia T4 Bus (7DJ, 7DK, 70J). Tip:

- Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – VW California Westfalia T4 Bus (7DJ, 7DK, 70J).
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Release the cabin filter cover clips. Remove the cabin filter housing cover. - Step 4
Remove the cabin air filter housing. - Step 5
Unplug the mass air flow sensor connector. - Step 6
Detach the power steering reservoir. - Step 7
Loosen the clamp and remove the intake air hose from the filter housing. Use water pump pliers. - Step 8
Release the air filter cover clips. - Step 9
Unscrew the filter housing fastening bolts. Use HEX No.H5. - Step 10
Take off the filter lid. - Step 11
Remove the filter element from the filter housing. - Step 12Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.Step 13
Clean the air filter cover and housing.Replacement: air filter – VW California Westfalia T4 Bus (7DJ, 7DK, 70J). Tip:Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth. - Step 14
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: air filter – VW California Westfalia T4 Bus (7DJ, 7DK, 70J). Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.Take care to only use quality filters.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
