Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. Professionals recommend:
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Detach the windscreen washer hose.Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 4Unplug the mass air flow sensor connector.Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 5Unscrew the clamp that fastens the air filter hose to the throttle body.Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 6Release the air filter cover clips.Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 7Take off the filter lid.Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 8Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
- Step 9Clean the air filter cover and housing.Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. AUTODOC recommends:Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.Step 10Insert a new filter element into the filter housing.Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.Take care to only use quality filters.
