How to change Air Filter on BMW X3 E83 TUTORIAL | AUTODOC

Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. Professionals recommend:

All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. Recommended sequence of steps:
Step 1
Open the bonnet.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Detach the windscreen washer hose.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 4
Unplug the mass air flow sensor connector.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 5
Unscrew the clamp that fastens the air filter hose to the throttle body.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 6
Release the air filter cover clips.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 7
Take off the filter lid.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 8
Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 9
Clean the air filter cover and housing.
Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. AUTODOC recommends:
Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
Step 10
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing.Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: air filter – BMW X3 E83. Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.Take care to only use quality filters.
Step 11
Reinstall the air filter cover. Fasten it.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 12
Press the air filter cover clips into place.
Step 13
Screw in the clamp that connects the air filter hose to the throttle body.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 14
Plug in the mass air flow sensor conntector.
Step 15
Attach the windscreen washer hose.
Step 16
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 17
Close the hood.
