- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: air filter – BMW E36. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the hood.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3Release the air filter cover clips.
- Step 4Take off the filter lid.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: air filter – BMW E36. To avoid damaging the part during installation, do not use excessive force.
- Step 5Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
- Step 6Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
- Step 7Clean the air filter cover and housing.Replacement: air filter – BMW E36. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
