Replacement: air filter – AUDI TT (8J3). List of the tools you'll need:

                      Torx bit T25
                    
                      Ratchet wrench
                    
                      Microfibre towel
                    
                      Fender cover

Please note: all work on the car – AUDI TT (8J3) – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the hood.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3

Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 4

Clean the air filter cover and housing.
Step 5

Slightly raise the cover of the air filter housing.
Step 6

Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 7

Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 8

Clean the air filter cover and housing.

AUTODOC recommends:
Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
Step 9

Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.
Step 10

Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.

Replacement: air filter – AUDI TT (8J3). AUTODOC recommends:
Check out the correct location of the filter element. Do not skew.Attention! Use quality filters – AUDI TT (8J3).During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
Step 11

Reinstall the air filter cover. Fasten it.
Step 12

Screw in the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13

Remove the fender protection cover.

Step 14

Close the hood.
