The reverse lights stopped working. Do you have any ideas why?

I had this problem as well. In my case it was a faulty reverse light switch. But it could be wiring problems as well. It's easy to check the wiring: all you have to do is remove the plug connectors and make them contact with each other. If the reverse light is on, there are no wiring issues and it may be a faulty switch. You can find it under the battery.

If the reverse lights on your Dacia Duster have stopped working, there are several common causes to consider:

    1. Faulty Reverse Light Switch
    - The most frequent culprit is a defective reverse light switch. This switch is responsible for activating the reverse lights when you shift into reverse. If the switch fails, the circuit remains open and the lights won't turn on.
    - On the Dacia Duster, the reverse light switch is typically located under the battery or on the gearbox. Testing or temporarily bypassing the switch can help confirm if it's faulty.

    2. Burnt Out Bulbs
    - While it's possible for bulbs to fail, it's uncommon for both to go out simultaneously. Still, it's worth checking the bulbs first to rule out the simplest possibility.

    3. Blown Fuse or Faulty Relay
    - A blown fuse or malfunctioning relay in the reverse light circuit can also cause both lights to stop working. Inspect the relevant fuse and relay, replacing them if necessary.

    4. Wiring Issues
    - Damaged or corroded wiring or connectors can disrupt the circuit. Inspect the wiring and connectors for obvious signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

    5. Faulty Gear Selector (rare)
    - If you are also having trouble engaging reverse gear, the issue might be with the gear selector rather than the lights themselves, though this is less common.

    How to Diagnose:
    - Check the bulbs and replace if necessary.
    - Inspect the fuse and relay for the reverse lights.
    - Locate and test the reverse light switch by disconnecting it and bridging the terminals; if the lights come on, the switch is likely faulty.
    - Examine the wiring and connectors for any visible issues.

Addressing these areas should help you identify and resolve the problem with your Dacia Duster's reverse lights. If you're not comfortable with electrical diagnostics, consider consulting a qualified mechanic.
