Remove intercooler of Duster 1.5 dci 2018
@Crou196629.06.2023 13:35MemberI do not know how on your car, but on my car did so. To remove the intercooler remove the bumper and unscrew the headlights. Each headlight is attached by three bolts. Further, we release the mount of the radiator of the internal cooling system. And here all the most interesting begin. It is necessary to take out the diffuser of the intercooler and for this purpose move aside radiators to the engine Remember the developers take out the diffuser of the cooler and radiator. Then disconnect the air conditioner radiator from the engine cooling radiator and connect the intercooler to the radiator. And now the intercooler is almost out. The air conditioner radiator on the hoses is pushed aside and the intercooler is pulled down. Reassemble everything in reverse order.- @aVa.Daies...05.06.2025 13:34MemberSteps to Remove the Intercooler on a Duster 1.5 dCi 2018
Preparation
- Ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery for safety.
- Gather necessary tools: socket set, Torx bits, screwdrivers, and possibly trim removal tools.
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the Front Bumper
- Detach the front bumper to access the intercooler. This typically involves removing screws or clips along the top, bottom, and wheel arches.
2. Unscrew the Headlights
- Each headlight is secured with three bolts. Remove these bolts and carefully disconnect the wiring to take out the headlights.
3. Release Radiator Mounts
- Locate and release the mounts holding the radiator of the internal cooling system. This step may require moving the radiators slightly toward the engine to create space.
4. Remove Intercooler Diffuser
- Take out the diffuser of the intercooler. This often involves sliding it out once the radiators are moved aside. Be cautious not to damage any cooling fins or attached components.
5. Disconnect the Air Conditioning Radiator
- Separate the air conditioner radiator from the engine cooling radiator. The AC radiator usually remains connected to its hoses; gently push it aside to gain access to the intercooler.
6. Detach Intercooler Hoses and Mounts
- Loosen the clamps and disconnect the intercooler hoses (inlet and outlet). Remove any bolts or fasteners securing the intercooler to the vehicle frame or subframe.
7. Remove the Intercooler
- With all connections and mounts released, carefully lower the intercooler out of the vehicle. Take care not to spill any residual oil or coolant that may be present inside. - @aVa.Daies...05.06.2025 13:34MemberReassembly
- Reinstall all components in reverse order: position the intercooler, reconnect hoses, secure mounts, reposition the AC radiator, reattach the radiator mounts, reinstall the headlights, and finally refit the bumper.
Additional Tips
- Take photos during disassembly to aid in reassembly.
- Inspect all hoses and clamps for wear; replace if necessary.
- If cleaning, ensure the intercooler is thoroughly dried before reinstalling.
Note: This procedure is based on user experiences and general automotive practices for the Duster 1.5 dCi 2018. Always consult a repair manual or professional if unsure.
