ive noticed that my car, within a couple of miles after starting from cold will display “engine overheating, contact workshop” warning light. the water temp gauge will shoot round but my oil temp read out on the computer wont exceed 110 degrees.
once the car has stopped and left for 5-10 minutes and i start it up again it NEVER happens.
any ideas what this can be?
    TIA

i think you have to check the water pump.
go to a workshop and ask the guys to diag the IN and OUT water temperature of the cooling radiator. if the difference is quite big, then the pump doesn’t work properly and you will need to change it
