Hey everyone! I’m thinking about getting a Lexus CT200h but heard some models have issues. Which years should I steer clear of, and what problems should I look out for? Thanks in advance!

Lexus CT200h owners should pay attention to models manufactured between 2011 and 2013, as they are more prone to engine problems, including defective piston rings, oil contamination and cylinder head gasket failure. It is also worth considering that the hybrid battery typically has a service life of around 8-10 years or 100-150 thousand miles.

Problems to look out for when choosing a Lexus CT200h:
    Engine problems (especially 2011-2013):
    Defective piston rings.
    Oil contamination.
    Cylinder head gasket failure.
Symptoms: severe shaking, misfiring, coolant leak.

    Hybrid battery condition:
Service life is typically 8-10 years or 100-150 thousand miles.
Watch for signs of battery wear, such as reduced fuel economy, reduced power, or strange drive behavior.
    General condition of the vehicle:
Check for signs of accident damage, corrosion, brake wear and suspension wear.
Check the electrical equipment and air conditioning system.
Carefully inspect the interior for wear and damage.

    2014 facelift:
If you want a fresher look, consider the 2014 facelift model.
    Recommendations for choosing:
Avoid early models (2011-2013) if there are engine problems.
Carefully check the condition of the hybrid battery.
Have an experienced mechanic inspect the vehicle before purchasing.
Consider models after the 2014 restyling for a more modern look.
