    Its not so hard. first you need to drain the antifreeze, then for more convenient access you need to remove the inlet pipe. then you can start removing the thermostat and unscrew it. replace it with a new one and assemble everything in the reverse order.

      Hi, the thermostat is at the back of the alternator, on the side of the engine

    This sounds really complicated. I’m not sure if I can diy it. I’m thinking it might be better to let the garage handle it.

    The thermostat’s kinda hard to get to. If you're not used to working in tight engine bays, might save you a headache letting a garage sort it. Just search nissan navara np300 thermostat location and you’ll see what you're dealing with.

    If you’re up for it, it’s doable. On the np300, the thermostat’s behind the alternator, so you’ll need to remove that to get to it. Take pics as you go and grab a new gasket when you get the thermostat, just in case the old one doesn’t seal up right after.
