Unhappy with brightness of my dipped beam headlight bulbs.  What’s the best I could replace them with?

mate had same issue with my Grand Picasso last year, honestly the stock H7 bulbs are rubbish for brightness. ended up putting in Philips RacingVision GT200 and the difference was mental, like proper night and day upgrade. they give 200% more brightness than standard and the light is whiter too which helps massively on country roads

fair point but mines been in for about 14 months now and still going strong, no issues at all. think the older racingvision models were dodgy but the GT200s seem solid

i went with Osram Night Breaker Laser 200 on mine about 8 months back and theyre brilliant, beam reaches like 150m ahead. had Philips X-treme Vision before but these Osrams just edge it for me, bit whiter light and havent blown yet 👍

your C4 Grand Picasso II takes H7 bulbs for dipped beam yeah so youve got loads of options. basically comes down to whether you want proper halogen upgrades or go full LED conversion

honestly if youre staying halogen then either Philips RacingVision GT200 or Osram Night Breaker are the way to go, both do 200% brightness. Ring Xenon200 is another option but i think the other two are better quality. whatever you do dont buy cheap ones off amazon, total waste of money

had a nightmare with my 2015 Grand Picasso headlights couple years back, kept going through bulbs every few months which was doing my head in. turned out the voltage regulator was playing up and cooking them. got that sorted then fitted Osram Night Breaker Unlimited and theyve been mint ever since
anyway back to your question, if youre just after brightness without messing about too much then Philips X-treme Vision Pro150 is decent middle ground. gives you 150% more light and lasts well, bit cheaper than the 200% ones too. i know a lad with a C4 who swears by them for motorway driving

mate at the garage spotted it when he was doing other work, bulbs were getting too hot basically. wasnt expensive fix luckily

the good ones like Osram and Philips are around 3700-4200K so theyre whiter than standard yellow but nowhere near blue, totally road legal and looks proper smart not chavvy at all

if you want maximum brightness legally then its between philips racingvision gt200 and osram night breaker laser 200. both claim 200% but in my experience the osram throws the beam further while philips is bit brighter close up. depends what roads you drive really

ive got philips whitevision ultra in mine which are meant to be 60% brighter but honestly they look amazing, really white light that makes everything clearer. not as bright as the 200% ones but way better than standard and they last ages

agree with you on the WhiteVision, got them in my wifes Picasso and shes well happy with them. the 4200K colour temp is spot on for visibility in rain

ust to add avoid LED conversion kits unless youve got projector headlights because they scatter light everywhere and blind everyone, not worth the hassle. stick with quality halogen upgrades from Osram or Philips and you cant go wrong 😅

Osram Night Breaker Laser 200, Philips RacingVision GT200, or Philips X-treme Vision Pro150. all tested and road legal, massive improvement over standard. fitting them is dead easy on the Grand Picasso too, no tools needed just twist the rubber cap off and swap the bulb
