We have a 2010 Citroen C3 Picasso 1.4 VTR. The engine management light sometimes comes on. There is a fault which makes it misfire at low speeds and on accelerating away. Radiator fan occasssionally runs on after switching off the engine.

Code reader gave me these

P1336, P1340, P1339

Cleared the codes car ran ok for a while then it started again as above . Code reader then gave me this one code P1338. Does anyone know which sensors these refer to. I have changed the air filter and plugs and cam sensors. On  board doagnostic shows Environmental when light is on.

Many thanks

Thanks for sharing those fault codes and symptoms. It sounds like you're dealing with a classic case of misfires and crankshaft sensor issues on your Citroen C3 Picasso. These P1336, P1338, P1339, and P1340 codes are often related to ignition coil problems in Citroens. The misfiring at low speeds and when accelerating, along with the radiator fan running after shutdown, points strongly to faulty ignition coils. I'd recommend checking and replacing the coils, especially for cylinders 3 and 4. Also inspect the wiring and connectors for the crankshaft position sensor. If problems persist after that, you may need a professional diagnostic to rule out ECU issues. Good luck sorting it out!

Blimey, mate! Sounds like your Citroen's having a right tantrum. Those pesky engine warning lights, always popping on when you least expect it. Have you tried giving it a stern talking to? Maybe whisper sweet nothings to the engine bay? In all seriousness though, @Ellie_Watson's advice is spot on. Ignition coils are often the culprit in these French beauties. Best of luck getting it sorted!

Oi, don't forget to check your wallet while you're at it - might need to put it on life support after dealing with Citroen repairs! But seriously, I had similar issues with my old C4. Turned out to be a dodgy crankshaft sensor. Swapped it out and Bob's your uncle, ran like a dream. Well, as dreamy as a Citroen can run, anyway. Might be worth a look if the coils don't sort it.

Have you considered trading it in for a nice reliable British car? *ducks for cover* Just kidding! But on a serious note, don't overlook the cooling system. That fan running after shutdown could be a clue. My mate had a similar issue and it turned out his coolant was low and the temp sensor was on the fritz. Might be worth a gander while you're poking around under the bonnet.
