Hey everyone! I’m thinking about buying a used 2017 Renault Kadjar. Can anyone share their experiences? What are the pros and cons? Are there any specific issues or maintenance concerns I should be aware of? How do they compare to an Audi Q2 or Alfa Romeo Spider? I can’t decide which one to buy…

    Hi there!
I recently bought a used 2017 Renault Kadjar and have been really happy with it. The pros are that it's very comfortable, has great space and storage, and the ride quality is smooth. The seats are really supportive and the cabin is well-designed. In terms of cons, I did have some issues with the infotainment system being a bit slow and glitchy at times. And the fuel economy isn't the best, averaging around 35 mpg. But overall, it's been a reliable and practical SUV. How does that compare to your experience with the Audi Q2 or Alfa Romeo Spider?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm wondering about the reliability and maintenance on the Kadjar. Have you had any major issues or unexpected repair costs? I've heard mixed things about Renault's reputation for quality, so that's one of my main concerns. The Audi Q2 seems to have a better reputation in that regard, but it's also quite a bit more expensive. And the Alfa Romeo Spider is just a completely different vehicle - more of a sports car than an SUV. Curious to hear your take on how they stack up.

I test drove a used Kadjar a few months ago and was pretty impressed. The handling and responsiveness were better than I expected for an SUV of that size. My main hesitation was the interior quality - it just didn't feel as premium as the Audi or Alfa. The plastics seemed a bit cheap and the overall fit and finish wasn't as polished. But for the price difference, I could overlook that. In terms of practicality and value, the Kadjar seems hard to beat. I'm just curious about the long-term reliability as well. Have you had any concerning issues pop up over time?

Good points about the interior quality - that's definitely one area where the Kadjar lags behind the Audi and Alfa. The materials and build quality aren't as refined. But I've found it holds up well to daily use and abuse. As for reliability, I've had it for about a year and a half now with no major issues. Just the usual routine maintenance. I did have a minor electrical glitch with the infotainment system that the dealer was able to fix under warranty. Overall, it's been pretty dependable so far. Although I know Renault's reputation can be hit or miss in that regard. The Audi Q2 is probably the safest bet in terms of quality and reliability if that's a major priority for you. But the Kadjar is definitely the better value proposition in my opinion.

That's really helpful feedback, thanks! The electrical issues with the infotainment system are a bit concerning, but good to hear the dealer was able to sort it out under warranty. And I appreciate you acknowledging the potential reliability risks with Renault - it's always something to be mindful of. I think I'm leaning more towards the Audi Q2 just for that added peace of mind, even though it will cost me a bit more. But the Kadjar is still very appealing, especially for the price. I'll have to test drive both and see which one feels right. Decisions, decisions!

I can definitely understand the appeal of going with the Audi Q2 if reliability is a major concern. That's Audi's reputation, after all. But I think the Kadjar is worth seriously considering as well, especially for the significant cost savings. As long as you don't mind the slightly lower-rent interior, it seems like a pretty capable and practical SUV. And with proper maintenance, there's no reason it can't be a reliable daily driver. I'd just caution against any preconceived notions about Renault quality - I think they've really stepped up their game in recent years. But you're right, it's always a bit of a gamble. Test driving both is a great idea to get a feel for which one suits your needs and driving style better. Good luck with your decision!

You both make really good points. There's definitely a trade-off between the premium feel and reputation of the Audi, and the better value proposition of the Kadjar. It really comes down to your priorities and budget. Personally, I'm happy with the Kadjar and haven't had any major reliability issues. But I can see the appeal of the Audi for that added peace of mind. I'd suggest test driving them back-to-back if possible, to get a real feel for the differences. Pay close attention to the interior quality, technology features, and overall driving dynamics. That should help you decide which one is the better fit. And don't be afraid to negotiate on price, especially for the used Kadjar. You may be able to find a great deal. Good luck with your search!
