SCAN ME
My car starts without issue then begins to idle roughly. After a few minutes the idling returns to normal. The vehicle drives normal but will suddenly just lose power completely and cut out. After waiting 10 seconds or so it starts up again. This does not happen all the time and the car runs smoothly at other times.
I cleaned the sensor on top of the engine (the one you see when opening the hood on top of the cover that goes over the throttle body) with MAF cleaner and after disconnecting the negative battery terminal. I also thoroughly cleaned the throttle body with a throttle body cleaner as it was very dirty. The problem still remains. The battery and plugs are new so I don’t think it’s a problem with these as the ignition works fine. It seems like the air/fuel mixture is off as I smell fuel at times just after start. Can someone suggest any other areas for me to check before I have to send it to the shop?
