RIDEX Pollen Filter reviews

Beware. I purchased this Pollen filter on the basis that having provided all my vehicle details (Reg No) that this would suffice in the delivery of the correct product. Not the case. Having done all the prep work & removed the existing filter, it was obvious that the new filter had no chance of fitting. This left me with having to clean the original filter as best as can & having to purchase a filter that not only looks like the original but will fit.

Unfortunately this filter was not a straight swap. The airflow arrow is printed back to front for the position of the beveled edge to be able to fit properly, and the thickness of the filter is taller than the opening so took some force to get it in. However, it does just about fit and I think it will function. Would not recommend for the Transit Custom 2.2

I ordered via the app and my vehicle details were clear at the top. I have had my vehicle serviced today and the pollen filter is incorrect so the Engineer was unable to fit it. I require the correct filter and I need to return the incorrect one you sent me. The vehicle is a Mercedes Benz SLK - R172 - 250 CDI - Year 2015. Kind regards

Beside that the plastic seems flimsy, it does not fit the VW T4 mounting ring for the interior filter. The clips that anchor it to the mounting ring are too small. Take the Bosch filter, that one actually fits. I had to return this one and it is purely a manufacturing error.

Air-flow direction only labelled on one piece and unconventionally at the top of the filter rather than the side. Once you have taken the filters out of the packaging you won't know which way the 2nd filter is supposed to be oriented. Ridiculous money-saving gimmick.

Fucking trash , There's no foam in the sealing areas; it's wider than the factory one. The side parts aren't rigid, so when you try to push the filter back in, it'll break and won't fit properly, and you'll curse like the idiot who bought this piece of crap.

I have not used a Ridex pollen filter before , but I hope it provides very good service . These need to be changed regularly also . Anyone who suffers from allergies will welcome the filtration that these units offer. These are generally easy to replace . .

seem good for the price, especially when you consider how much oem are. but what a faff to fit them. found the first one went in fine but the second one on top had so much friction it almost collapsed trying to fit it. got there in the end.

Don't waste your money, fitted to a L322 which sits horizontally. The filter is so floppy it hangs in the middle so does not create a tight seal.

ok, but not great. I replaced oem one fitted from factory as I believe it hadn't been done over 6 years - yuck. however this new filter doesn't filter dirty diesels as good as the old oem one. definitely more wiffy

Vertical fins/slats rather than horizontal that Renault's genuine filter has, so compressing it in order to squeeze it passed bodywork was a challenge as vertically mounted fins/slats won't compress but possible.

good quality filter, but beware KIA has two options, make sure to see if you need a split filter half the size but 2 or a single filter.
