                      Torque wrench
                    
                      Combination spanner #10
                    
                      Drive socket # 10
                    
                      Drive socket # 21
                    
                      1/2" square drive extension bar
                    
                      Torx bit T30
                    
                      Wheel impact socket #19
                    
                      Ratchet wrench
                    
                      Tap wrench
                    
                      Wheel chock

All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: serpentine belt – Volvo V70 BW. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 2

Loosen the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a tap wrench.
Step 3

Raise the car.

Replacement: serpentine belt – Volvo V70 BW. AUTODOC experts recommend:
If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Volvo V70 BW
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Unscrew the wheel arch cover fasteners. Move the part aside. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 7

Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a 1/2" square drive extension bar.
Step 8

Remove the V-ribbed belt from the pulley.
Step 9

Return the tensioner pulley to its initial position.
Step 10

Unscrew the belt tensioner fasteners. Use a combination spanner #10.
Step 11

Remove the fastening bolts.
Step 12

Remove the V-ribbed belt tensioner.
Step 13

Remove the V-ribbed belt.

Replacement: serpentine belt – Volvo V70 BW. Tip:
Check the condition of the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Replace them if necessary.
Step 14

Install the new V-ribbed belt.
Step 15

Install the new V-ribbed belt tensioner.
Step 16

Install the fastening bolts.

Step 17

Tighten the V-ribbed belt tensioner fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 24 Nm torque.
Step 18

Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a 1/2" square drive extension bar.
Step 19

Place the serpentine belt on the crankshaft pulley.
Step 20

Return the tensioner pulley to its initial position.

Step 21

Rotate the crankshaft several times to check whether the new V-ribbed belt is working correctly. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.

AUTODOC recommends:
Make sure that the V-ribbed belt fits all pulleys snugly.Make sure that the V-ribbed belt is properly tensioned.
Step 22

Install the wheel arch cover to its mounting seat. Screw in the fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 23

Install the wheel.

Replacement: serpentine belt – Volvo V70 BW. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 24

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 25

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 140 Nm torque.
Step 26

Remove the jacks and chocks.

Step 27

Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.

Step 28

Shut off the engine.
