Replacement: shock absorbers – CITROËN C2 (JM_). Professionals recommend:
- Both shock absorbers of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right shock absorbers of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: shock absorbers – CITROËN C2 (JM_). Take the following steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. CITROËN C2 (JM_)
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Loosen the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #21. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 8Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 9Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #21. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 10Remove the plastic clips of the wheel arch liner. Use a clip removal tool.
- Step 11Remove the wheel arch cover.
- Step 12Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 13Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a tap wrench.Replacement: shock absorbers – CITROËN C2 (JM_). AUTODOC recommends:To avoid injuries, hold the shock absorber when undoing the fastening bolts.
- Step 14Remove the fastening bolt. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
- Step 15Remove the fastening bolt. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
- Step 16Remove the shock absorber.Replacement: shock absorbers – CITROËN C2 (JM_). Tip from AUTODOC:Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.
- Step 17Clean the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 18Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and secure it.
- Step 19Install the fastening bolt.Replacement: shock absorbers – CITROËN C2 (JM_). AUTODOC experts recommend:To avoid injury, hold the shock absorber cautiously tight when screwing in the fastening bolts.
- Step 20Treat the shock absorber fasteners. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 21Install the fastening bolt.
- Step 22Screw the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16.
