Replacement: engine mounts – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). AUTODOC recommends:
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: engine mounts – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 2
Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use a drive socket #12. Use a Phillips screwdriver. - Step 3
Remove the oil pan cover. - Step 4
Clean the engine mount fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 5
Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.Replacement: engine mounts – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). Tip:Make sure that the engine is supported. - Step 6
Unscrew the fastener connecting the engine mount to the gearbox housing. Use HEX No.H10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 7
Unscrew the engine mount fastener that connects it to the subframe. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Remove the fastening bolts. Use a crowbar. - Step 9
Remove the engine mount.AUTODOC recommends:Carefully check the other engine mounts and replace them if necessary. - Step 10
Clean the mounting seat of the engine mount. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 11
Install the engine mount to its mounting seat. Use a crowbar.
