Replacement: coil springs – VW TRANSPORTER V Bus (7HB, 7HJ, 7EB, 7EJ, 7EF). AUTODOC recommends:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: coil springs – VW TRANSPORTER V Bus (7HB, 7HJ, 7EB, 7EJ, 7EF). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. - Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW TRANSPORTER V Bus (7HB, 7HJ, 7EB, 7EJ, 7EF) - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 8
Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 9
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 10
Remove the support from under the arm.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – VW TRANSPORTER V Bus (7HB, 7HJ, 7EB, 7EJ, 7EF). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms. - Step 11Pull down the suspension control arm.Step 12
Take out the spring. - Step 13Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 14Pull down the suspension control arm. Use a crowbar.Step 15
Install the spring. - Step 16
Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.AUTODOC recommends:For tightening the fasteners correctly, you have to jack up the suspension components to their working position.
