Replacement: coil springs – SKODA FABIA. Tip from AUTODOC:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- Please note: all work on the car – SKODA FABIA – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SKODA FABIA
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 8Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 9Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 10Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – SKODA FABIA. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
- Step 11Take out the spring.Replacement: coil springs – SKODA FABIA. Tip from AUTODOC:Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary.
- Step 12Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 13Install the coil spring together with the rubber mounts into the mounting seats.
