Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 307 (3A/C). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 307 (3A/C). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT 307 (3A/C)
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 8Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 10Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 307 (3A/C). AUTODOC recommends:Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms.
- Step 11Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 12Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 13Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 14Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 15Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:PEUGEOT 307 (3A/C) – Do not lower the transmission jack sharply to avoid damaging components and mechanisms of the car.
- Step 16Take out the spring.Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 307 (3A/C). Tip:Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary.
- Step 17Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 18Install the coil spring together with the rubber mounts into the mounting seats.
- Step 19Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 20Install the fastening bolt.
