- Replace the stabiliser links on Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. - Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use a drive socket #18. - Step 8
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use a combination spanner #18. Use HEX No.H6. - Step 9
Remove the stabilizer rod.Replacement: anti roll bar links – Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon. Professionals recommend:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed. - Step 10
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners. Use a combination spanner #18. Use HEX No.H6.
