Replacement: ignition coil – AUDI A4 (8EC, B7). List of the tools you'll need:
Electronic spray
All-purpose cleaning spray
Torque wrench
HEX bit No.H5
Ratchet wrench
Fender cover
Replacement: ignition coil – AUDI A4 (8EC, B7). AUTODOC experts recommend:
  • The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
  • Please note: all work on the car – AUDI A4 (8EC, B7) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
  1. Step 1
    Open the hood.
    Step 2
    Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

    Remove the engine cover.
    AUTODOC recommends:
    Replacement: ignition coil – AUDI A4 (8EC, B7). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.

    Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil.
    Replacement: ignition coil – AUDI A4 (8EC, B7). AUTODOC recommends:
    Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the position of the spark plug wires.

    Detach the connector from the ignition coil.

    Unscrew the ignition coil bolts. Use HEX No.H5. Use a ratchet wrench.
