- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: fuel filter – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 4Loosen the fuel filter mounting. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 5Loosen the fuel supply lines fastening to the fuel filter. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 6Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use round-nose pliers.Replacement: fuel filter – VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA). Tip:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
- Step 7Remove the fuel line retaining clip. Use round-nose pliers.
- Step 8Remove the fuel line.
- Step 9Remove the fuel filter.
- Step 10Install a new fuel filter.AUTODOC recommends:VW TRANSPORTER IV Box (70XA) – It's important to only use high-quality filters.
- Step 11Clean the fuel lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 12Install the fuel line.
- Step 13Install the fuel line retaining clip.
