Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 4
Loosen the fuel filter mounting. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 5
Loosen the fuel supply lines fastening to the fuel filter. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 6
Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use round-nose pliers.Replacement: fuel filter – VW GOLF III Cabriolet (1E7). Tip:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses. - Step 7
Remove the fuel line retaining clip. Use round-nose pliers. - Step 8
Remove the fuel line. - Step 9
Remove the fuel filter. - Step 10
Install a new fuel filter.AUTODOC recommends:VW GOLF III Cabriolet (1E7) – It's important to only use high-quality filters. - Step 11
Clean the fuel lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 12
Install the fuel line. - Step 13
Install the fuel line retaining clip.
