Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Detach the coolant expansion tank connector. - Step 4
Unscrew the fasteners of the coolant reservoir. Use a Phillips screwdriver. - Step 5
Remove the coolant reservoir. - Step 6
Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 7
Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use a flat screwdriver.Replacement: fuel filter – VW California T5 Bus (7EC, 7EF, 7EG, 7HF). Professionals recommend:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses. - Step 8
Unscrew the fasteners of the back section of the engine cover. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 9
Unscrew the fasteners of the underbody cover panel. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 10
Remove the underbody cover panel. - Step 11Unscrew the fuel filter bracket. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.Step 12
Unscrew the fuel filter bracket fixing bolts. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 13Prepare a container for fluids.Step 14
Remove the fuel filter. Put the old filter cartridge in the container.Replacement: fuel filter – VW California T5 Bus (7EC, 7EF, 7EG, 7HF). AUTODOC experts recommend:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses. - Step 15
Install a new fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – VW California T5 Bus (7EC, 7EF, 7EG, 7HF). AUTODOC recommends:Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Attention! Use quality filters – VW California T5 Bus (7EC, 7EF, 7EG, 7HF). - Step 16
Screw the fixing bolts of the fuel filter bracket. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 17
Clean the fuel lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 18
Connect the fuel lines to the new fuel filter.
