How to change fuel filter SEAT LEON 1M1 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Fuel Filter for Leon Hatchback (1M1) and other SEAT models
Replacement: fuel filter – Seat Leon 1M1. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – Seat Leon 1M1.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Open the fuel door.
Step 2
Unscrew the fuel filler cap.
Step 3
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
Step 4
Clean the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 5
Prepare a container for fluids.
Step 6
Disconnect the parking brake cable.
Step 7
Loosen the fuel filter fasteners. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8
Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 9
Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use fuel line pliers.
Replacement: fuel filter – Seat Leon 1M1. AUTODOC recommends:
Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
Step 10
Remove the fuel filter.
Step 11
Clean the fuel lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 12
Install a new fuel filter.

Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.
Step 13
Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter.
Step 14
Screw in the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 15
Secure the parking brake cable.
Step 16
Take the fluid container away from under the fuel filter.
Step 17
Lower the car.
Step 18
Tighten the fuel filler cap.
Step 19
Close the fuel door.
Replacement: fuel filter – Seat Leon 1M1. Professionals recommend:
Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.
Step 20
Run the engine for a few minutes.
