How to change oil filter and engine oil on SEAT LEON 1M1 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: engine oil and filter – Seat Leon 1M1. AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Please note: all work on the car – Seat Leon 1M1 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3Pull up the oil dipstick.
- Step 4Unscrew the oil filler plug.
- Step 5Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Seat Leon 1M1. Tip:The vehicle must be on a level surface, but if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.Step 6Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole.
- Step 7Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Drain the used oil.AUTODOC recommends:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
- Step 10Clean the oil filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 11Unscrew the oil filter. Use the 76-14F socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Remove the oil filter.
- Step 13Clean the oil filter seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.Step 14Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.
- Step 15Install a new oil filter.
- Step 16Tighten the oil filter. Remember to observe the recommended tightening torque. Use the 76-14F socket. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 24 Nm torque.
- Step 17Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
