Replacement: fuel filter – PORSCHE 911 Convertible (996). Tip from AUTODOC:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- Please note: all work on the car – PORSCHE 911 Convertible (996) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Remove the engine cover caps. Use a flat screwdriver.Step 4Unscrew the engine cover fastener. Use a drive socket #10.
- Step 5Remove the engine cover.Replacement: fuel filter – PORSCHE 911 Convertible (996). AUTODOC experts recommend:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously.
- Step 6Clean the fuel filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 7Loosen the fastening clamps of the fuel filter pipes. Use hose clamp pliers with retainer.
- Step 8Detach the tubes from the fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – PORSCHE 911 Convertible (996). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
- Step 9Loosen the fuel filter mounting. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 10Remove the fuel filter pipe retainer.
- Step 11Disconnect the pipe from the fuel filter.
- Step 12Remove the fuel filter. Put the old filter cartridge in the container.
- Step 13Install a new fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – PORSCHE 911 Convertible (996). Tip from AUTODOC:Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.PORSCHE 911 Convertible (996) – It's important to only use high-quality filters.
- Step 14Tighten the fuel filter fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 15Remove the o-rings. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 16Install new o-rings.
