Replacement: fuel filter – BMW 6 Gran Coupe (F06). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- Please note: all work on the car – BMW 6 Gran Coupe (F06) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 2
Prepare a container for fluids. - Step 3
Remove the snap ring of the fuel pressure regulator retainer clip. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 4
Loosen the fastening clamp of the fuel filter pipe. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 5
Loosen the fuel filter mounting. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 6
Detach the tubes from the fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – BMW 6 Gran Coupe (F06). AUTODOC recommends:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses. - Step 7
Remove the fuel filter. Put the old filter cartridge in the container. - Step 8
Unscrew the fuel filter bracket fixing bolts. Use Torx T40. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9
Remove the fuel filter fastening bracket. - Step 10
Install the fuel filter fastening bracket. - Step 11
Screw the fixing bolts of the fuel filter bracket. Use Torx T40. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 12
Install a new fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – BMW 6 Gran Coupe (F06). Tip from AUTODOC:Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.BMW 6 Gran Coupe (F06) – It's important to only use high-quality filters.

I took the covers off and its not there. Search all the net resources - no luck. Went to Autozone and there info says you must contact BMW service. No filters or regulators available. Found a couple of resources that say they are showing you how to do it (like yours) but they show how to do it on a different engine (like you guys). Since nobody bothered to make sure they were doing it on the correct car (like you guys) I have to go to the theives at BMW to get it done. I will let you know whats up, when I find out whats going on.
