                      Wire brush
                    
                      WD-40 spray

                      Torx bit T30
                    
                      Ratchet wrench

Replacement: wiper motor – Renault Clio 3. AUTODOC recommends:

All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: wiper motor – Renault Clio 3. Recommended sequence of steps:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.
Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3

Remove the windscreen wiper arm nut covers. Use a clip removal tool.
Step 4

Clean the fasteners of the wiper arms. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 5

Unscrew the fasteners of the windscreen wiper arms. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 6

Remove the wiper arms.
Step 7

Remove the cowl grille seal.
Step 8

Remove the cowl grille clips. Use a clip removal tool.

Step 9

Raise up and remove the cowl grille.
Step 10

Remove the wiper linkage cover. Use a clip removal tool.
Step 11

Clean the wiper linkage fasteners. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 12

Unscrew the wiper linkage fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13

Unplug the wiper motor connector.
Step 14

Remove the wiper linkage.
Step 15

Clean the wiper motor fasteners. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 16

Unscrew the wiper motor fasteners. Use a combination spanner #13.
Step 17

Detach the wiper motor. Use 3-Arm Gear Puller.
Step 18

Clean the wiper motor fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 19

Unscrew the wiper motor fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 20

Remove the wiper motor.
Step 21

Install the new wiper motor.
Step 22

Screw in the wiper motor fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 23

Attach the wiper motor.
Step 24

Screw in the wiper motor fasteners. Use a combination spanner #13.
Step 25

Tighten the wiper motor fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 24 Nm torque.
Step 26

Clean the mounting seat of the wiper linkage. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 27

Plug in the wiper motor connector.
Step 28

Install the wiper linkage.
Step 29

Screw in the wiper linkage fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 30

Tighten the wiper linkage fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 22 Nm torque.
Step 31

Install the wiper linkage cover.
Step 32

Install and secure the cowl grille.
Step 33

Install the cowl grille clips.

Step 34

Install the cowl grille seal.
Step 35

Treat the pivots of the windscreen wiper arms. Use copper grease.
Step 36

Reinstall the wiper arms.

Replacement: wiper motor – Renault Clio 3. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Make sure not to mix up the wiper arms on the driver's and passenger's sides.
Step 37

Tighten the fasteners of the wiper arms. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 29 Nm torque.
Step 38

Install the nut covers of the windscreen wiper arms.
Step 39

Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 40

Close the hood.
Step 41

Switch on the ignition. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.

Step 42

Switch off the ignition.
