Replacement: front lower arm – CITROËN C3 II Kasten / Schrägheck (SC). Tip:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: front lower arm – CITROËN C3 II Kasten / Schrägheck (SC). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Loosen the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a drive socket #32. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 4Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. CITROËN C3 II Kasten / Schrägheck (SC)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #E8. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 10Loosen the rear fastener of the control arm. Use a drive socket #18. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 11Loosen the front fastener of the control arm. Use a drive socket #18. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 12Unscrew the rear arm fastener. Use Torx T55. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 13Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 14Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar.
- Step 15Unscrew the fastener connecting the drive shaft to the wheel hub.
- Step 16Detach the driveshaft from the steering knuckle.
- Step 17Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use Torx T55. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 18Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 19Remove the arm. Use a crowbar.
- Step 20Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 21Install a new arm.Replacement: front lower arm – CITROËN C3 II Kasten / Schrägheck (SC). AUTODOC recommends:During the installation process, use only new bolts and nuts.Do not damage the ball joint cover.
- Step 22Install the control arm fasteners.
- Step 23Clean the splines of the drive shaft CV joint. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 24Mount the drive shaft into the wheel hub.
- Step 25Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar.
