- The replacement procedure is identical for both brake disks on the same axle.
- When changing the brake discs, always replace the brake pads.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.

- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2
Remove the cowl grille seal. - Step 3Remove the plastic panel.Step 4
Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap. - Step 5Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 6
Loosen the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a tap wrench. - Step 7Raise the car.Replacement: brake discs – HONDA CIVIC IX Saloon (FB, FG). Tip:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 8
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 9
Remove the wheel. - Step 10
Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar. - Step 11
Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 12
Unscrew the brake caliper fasteners. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 13
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 14
Remove the brake caliper.Replacement: brake discs – HONDA CIVIC IX Saloon (FB, FG). AUTODOC recommends:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. - Step 15
Remove the brake pads. - Step 16
Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 17
Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 18Remove the fastening bolts.Step 19
Remove the brake caliper bracket. - Step 20
Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 21
Unscrew the brake disc fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Use an impact screwdriver. Use a hammer. - Step 22
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 23
Remove the brake disc. - Step 24
Clean the wheel hub. Use a wire brush. - Step 25Treat the contacting surface. Use ceramic grease.Step 26
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner. - Step 27
Install a new brake disc. - Step 28
Install the fastening bolts. - Step 29
Tighten the brake disc fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 10 Nm torque.
