Replacement: brake discs – Honda Civic 8. AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the brake disks on the car Honda Civic 8 in pairs on an axle, regardless of the condition of the components. This will ensure even braking.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both brake disks on the same axle.
- When changing the brake discs, always replace the brake pads.
- Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – Honda Civic 8.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.
- Step 2Remove the cowl grille seal.
- Step 3Remove the plastic panel.
- Step 4Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Step 5Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 6Loosen the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 7Raise the car.Replacement: brake discs – Honda Civic 8. Tip:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
- Step 8Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Honda Civic 8
- Step 9Remove the wheel.
- Step 10Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.Step 11Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 12Unscrew the brake caliper fasteners. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 13Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 14Remove the brake caliper.Replacement: brake discs – Honda Civic 8. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.
- Step 15Remove the brake pads.
- Step 16Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 17Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 18Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 19Remove the brake caliper bracket.
- Step 20Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 21Unscrew the brake disc fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Use an impact screwdriver. Use a hammer.
- Step 22Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 23Remove the brake disc.
- Step 24Clean the wheel hub. Use a wire brush.
- Step 25Treat the contacting surface. Use ceramic grease.
- Step 26Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.
- Step 27Install a new brake disc.
- Step 28Install the fastening bolts.
- Step 29Tighten the brake disc fasteners. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 10 Nm torque.
