Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW CADDY II Estate (9K9B). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW CADDY II Estate (9K9B) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Unscrew the oil filler plug.
- Step 4Pull up the oil dipstick.
- Step 5Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW CADDY II Estate (9K9B). Tip from AUTODOC experts:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All works should be done with the engine cooled down.Step 6Put a waste oil container with at least 4 l capacity under the drainage hole.
- Step 7Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW CADDY II Estate (9K9B). AUTODOC recommends:Caution! The oil may be hot.
- Step 10Clean the oil filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 11Unscrew the oil filter. Use a drive socket #30. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Remove the oil filter.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW CADDY II Estate (9K9B). Professionals recommend:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter.
- Step 13Clean the oil filter seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 14Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.
- Step 15Install a new oil filter.
- Step 16Tighten the oil filter. Remember to observe the recommended tightening torque. Use a drive socket #30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 23 Nm torque.AUTODOC recommends:Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
- Step 17Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
- Step 18Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 28 nm torque.
