Replacement: engine oil and filter – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Use only new O-rings during installation.
- Please note: all work on the car – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135). Tip from AUTODOC experts:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped.Step 2Put a waste oil container with at least 6 l capacity under the drainage hole.
- Step 3Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 4Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135). Tip:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
- Step 5Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.Step 6Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 28 nm torque.
- Step 7Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.Step 8Lower the car.Step 9Open the hood.Step 10Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 11Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: engine oil and filter – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 12Unscrew the filter housing cap together with the old filter element. Use a drive socket #36. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 13Prepare a container for the old oil filter.
- Step 14Put the old oil filter in the container.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter.
- Step 15Detach the oil filter from the filter cover.
- Step 16Remove the oil filter cover O-ring. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 17Install a new O-ring to its mounting seat on the filter cover. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 18Install the new oil filter to the mounting seat on the filter cover.Please note!Make sure to install the filter correctly. Don't mix up the sides of the part.
