- Replace the brake disks on the car VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135) in pairs on an axle, regardless of the condition of the components. This will ensure even braking.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both brake disks on the same axle.
- When changing the brake discs, always replace the brake pads.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake discs – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135). Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 4Loosen the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 5Raise the car.AUTODOC recommends:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 6Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135)
- Step 7Remove the wheel.
- Step 8Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 9Detach the brake caliper retaining spring. Use a crowbar.
- Step 10Remove the caps from the brake caliper guide pin boots. Use a crowbar.
- Step 11Unscrew the brake caliper fasteners. Use HEX No.H7. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Remove the brake caliper.Replacement: brake discs – VOLVO V70 III Kasten / Kombi (135). Professionals recommend:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.
- Step 13Remove the brake pads.
- Step 14Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 15Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 16Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 17Remove the brake caliper bracket.
- Step 18Clean the brake disc fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 19Unscrew the brake disc fasteners. Use Torx T50. Use an impact screwdriver. Use a hammer.
- Step 20Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 21Remove the brake disc.
- Step 22Clean the wheel hub. Use a wire brush.Step 23Treat the contacting surface. Use ceramic grease.Step 24Install a new brake disc.
- Step 25Install the fastening bolt.
- Step 26Tighten the brake disc fasteners. Use Torx T50. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 15 Nm torque.
- Step 27Clean the brake caliper bracket of dirt and dust. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.
