Replacement: air filter – VW PASSAT (3G2). Tip from AUTODOC:
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW PASSAT (3G2) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Disconnect the crankcase breather hose from the air filter housing.
- Step 4Disconnect the vacuum hose from the air filter housing.
- Step 5Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 6Take off the filter lid.
- Step 7Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
- Step 8Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
- Step 9Clean the air filter cover and housing.
- Step 10Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.
