How to change air filter on VW GOLF 5 (1K1) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Air Filter for Golf V Hatchback (1K1) and other VW models
Replacement: air filter – VW Golf 5. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – VW Golf 5.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Open the bonnet.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 4
Take off the filter lid.
Step 5
Unscrew the fasteners of the air filter cartridge. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 6
Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 7
Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 8
Clean the air filter cover and housing.
Replacement: air filter – VW Golf 5. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
Step 9
Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.
Step 10
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.
Replacement: air filter – VW Golf 5. Tip:
Check out the correct location of the filter element. Do not skew.VW Golf 5 – It's important to only use high-quality filters.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
Step 11
Screw in the fasteners of the air filter cartridge.
Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 12
Reinstall the air filter cover. Fasten it.
Step 13
Screw in the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 14
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 15
Close the hood.
