Replacement: air filter – VW BORA (1J2). Tip from AUTODOC:
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: air filter – VW BORA (1J2). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 4Detach the air intake hose clamp. Use water pump pliers.
- Step 5Unplug the mass air flow sensor connector.
- Step 6Disconnect the air intake pipe from the air filter housing.
- Step 7Slightly raise the cover of the air filter housing.
- Step 8Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
- Step 9Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
- Step 10Clean the air filter cover and housing.Replacement: air filter – VW BORA (1J2). Professionals recommend:Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
- Step 11Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.
